Superlift Offers Electronic Geometry Recalibration Module For Lifted Jeep Commanders & Grand Cherokees

West Monroe, LA: Lifting a Jeep XK Commander or WK Grand Cherokee and adding larger-than-stock tires throws off the factory Electronic Stability Program (ESP). With engineering assistance from American Expedition Vehicles (AEV), Superlift now offers the Electronic Geometry Recalibration (EGR) Module to complement its 4" WK/XK 2WD and 4x4 lift systems (Part #s K829, K829R).

The EGR Module properly calibrates steering input and speed-sensor signals to correct the inputs for the OE ESP system. The unit uses dipswitches to allow the user to reprogram for non-stock tire heights and/or axle gear ratios. Additionally, other factory parameters that can be reprogrammed to restore or defeat the OE ESP programming include accurate speedometer readings, "one touch lane change" (the turn signal blinks three times) and "reverse mirror tilt." Once connected to the OE harness, the module "locks" to the vehicle's VIN number. However, a "restore" function resets the vehicle's settings to stock and unlocks the EGR Module for use in another vehicle. After the EGR Module is programmed to set the vehicle's parameters, it is permanently installed in the Jeep near the steering column.

One EGR Module application (Part #5154) works for 2005-2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Commander (both 2WD and 4WD) equipped with the Superlift 4" lift system. Applications for 2008-model-year vehicles are scheduled for Summer 2008 release.
